"Life changing? Yes! I beg your pardon? Not any more!"
Knowing that my hearing had been deteriorating for some time, it was with some trepidation (and lots of encouragement from my family), that I approached Bronwen for an appointment in June 2005.
Not only did she treat me with dignity and respect, she totally allayed my concerns and fears, spending lots of time testing and discussing my unique needs. The test revealed that I had significant deterioration in one ear and enough loss in the other ear to require 2 hearing aids. Just one week later I was fitted with my new "ears'". Adjustments were minimal and the transition was extremely smooth.
It was such a relief to be actually able to hear and contribute again in family and social discussions but just as importantly to feel comfortable and confident in my workplace where I deal with the public all day.
As my hair has always been short around my ears, I had been initially concerned the aids would he obvious. Not so, even the most discerning can't actually see them.
Resound air hearing aids are comfortable to wear, easy to use and offer normal sound with no resonance or distortion. They are also very easy to maintain, even the batteries are simple to change. A very appropriate way to deal with what was very embarrassing problem, deafness.
Life changing? Yes!
